Updates & Milestones
This post is a sort of update on all things Watch Complications. I wanted to bring attention to a couple of new pages on the site that are not in the form of blog posts and provide some milestone information.
Making Custom Dials Video Series
I completed and published an initial set of videos on my YouTube channel about making custom watch dials. For the first set in the series, I used a GMT project I was working on for a customer to illustrate one of my processes for making custom dials. For easy viewing of the video series, I have created a Making Custom Dials page in the “How-To” category that has all the videos in the series embedded, along with their descriptions. Be sure to take a look and more on that GMT project is below!
Custom Watches Page
I have published a Custom Watches page that details my process for making custom watches for clients, should you have an interest in engaging me to make a custom timepiece. I receive inquiries on a regular basis, and this is one of my favorite things to do in my watch world: working with a customer to create their watch from beginning to end. So, if you want to know what it is like working with me to create a custom watch, then the Custom Watches page is where to start.
YouTube Stats
My YouTube channel has hit a few milestones this past week, and I wanted to thank all of my readers and subscribers for the ongoing support and communication. I started the channel a little over a year ago with my first watch review and it has turned into a true exploration of watches and watchmaking.
In May 2019, the channel passed 350 subscribers, 40k views, 30k minutes (500 hours) watched, and my first individual video to pass 10k views (Low cost watches (A series)) occurred.
I did not have any particular expectations when I started the channel, this is really a hobby for me, and to say I have been pleasantly surprised by the outcomes so far is an understatement. So again, thank you to everyone that watches and reads my content.
Posts Coming Soon
Exciting posts are on the horizon for Watch Complications and these will be published very soon.
- Leville Regulator Review: The YouTube video for this is already published, and the blog post with all the pics is almost done.
- GMT Blue: There will be a post that provides more details and pictures of the GMT watch that provided the dial of interest in the Making Custom Dials series.
- Wonderland Series additions: The Tea Party model was the first in the series, and I have a new model dubbed “Pool of Tears” that has been completed. Content will include a blog post and a series of YouTube videos showing me assemble the prototypes.
- Hamtun Nanok Review: This is another Kickstarter watch that I expect I will take delivery of in early June and I will get a review out as soon as possible, given a little time wearing the watch.
Well that’s it for this update! If you wish to be notified of new content related to Watch Complications then be sure to subscribe to my website mailing list, subscribe to the YouTube channel, and follow me on Instagram @watch_complications.
