Pool of Tears
Pool of Tears is Chapter II of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and serves as the inspiration for the next set of models in my Wonderland Series for my nano-brand 10/6. The pooling effect on the dials combined with the colors, hands, and logo remind the wearer of a foreign but familiar setting. Consistent with the Tea Party model, the Pool of Tears models feature guilloché dials, high color contrasts, decorated movements, and classic hand designs. Making watch prototypes is an essential part of watchmaking.
I have assembled/envisioned four prototypes for this series: Pool (blue), Drowning (black), Gloves (white), Shore (cream). The process of building these prototypes has been well documented in my Making Custom Watches series on YouTube, but I also wanted to share a series of pictures of the watches and provide highlights.

Pool of Tears Prototypes
Chinese ST3600 or Swiss ETA6497 movements can be selected for these watches. For the prototypes I went with the cheaper option.
Model Ideas
After completing the prototypes with blue and black dials, I decided to add a couple more varieties. One is rose gold with a cream dial and the other is a brighter white dial that will have black hands. The white dial started as blue, I used paint thinner to remove the paint, and the result is quite good. I was testing distressed looks, but decided that strong crisp colors were better. I also have a personal preference for feathered hands as opposed to the lumed sport hands.
