Múgatoo Paris Straps
Back in August 2019 I purchased my Grand Seiko SBGE249 “Blizzard,” a brilliant collaborative offering from GS and Timeless Luxury Watches in Plano, TX. Some months after the release and my purchase, another collaboration produced a Múgatoo Paris strap worth the splurge and spoiling of a very special watch.
The Múgatoo Paris strap required the most money I have ever spent on a strap and that is likely to be the case for some time. At the time of writing, four options exist that fit a variety of GS cases. The default choices are as follows: Blue canvas with white stitching, Tan calf leather with white stitching, Blue crocodile leather with blue stitching, and Grey crocodile leather with white stitching. The canvas and calf leather are $245, while the croc straps are $395.
Fits: SBGA001, SBGA003, SBGA011, SBGA059, SBGA201, SBGA203, SBGA211, SBGA259, SBGE205, SBGE211, SBGE249.

You might note my strap is blue croc with white stitching. Well that is because they do offer some customization options if you ask. I purchased mine fairly early on when customized variants were not produced yet, so I had to wait a few months for the strap to be made, but it was worth the wait and mostly worth the cost.
The Grand Seiko bracelet is quite comfortable and has an unobtrusive clasp. However, the absence of a micro-adjustment, even with the existence of half-links, is an issue for a lot of GS fans, me included. Living in a place and having an arm with significant temperature variance really necessitates a micro-adjust. So, typically I prefer most casual and dress watches on leather, while rubber is my normal choice for dive watches.
The details:
- Product: Múgatoo Paris Strap
- Lug Width: 20mm, tapers to 18mm at buckle
- Strap Length: 190mm/19cm/7.5in total (buckle and case lug-to-lug not included). Fits my ~7.5 inch wrist just right.
- Retail Price: $395
- Leather quality and work is top notch.
- Red interior is a beautiful texture and shade.
- Customization options available (e.g., stitching colors, blue camo, etc.)
- Standard width and length will fit most wrists and might fit some other watches.
- Custom metal inserts are the key! Provides a seamless look.
- Like the GS bracelet, has convenient notches for a springbar tool, which makes changing wristwear fairly simple (see video).
- Price…ouch. May not be a con for all people but certainly for some people.
- The seamless look from case and lugs to straps comes at the price of the strap not moving freely at the lugs and thus unable to lay on a surface dial up. If not on the wrist, then the watch should be in a watchbox (Glenor Co) on a cushion.
- The buckle is not good. At this price point, the buckle needs kicked up a notch and honestly should come with a deployant clasp. I plan to swap the buckle with the deployant that came on my Seiko Presage “Irish Coffee” SSA401J1.
- Time to delivery. This will potentially be an issue for customized orders that are not in stock. Mine took three months. Worth the wait, but was still a long wait.

Final Thought
If you have one of the Grand Seiko cases a Múgatoo strap fits, then they are seriously worth considering. Especially if you want a comfortable alternative to the GS bracelet, yet remains visually appealing. Like a GS watch…worth it.
Great Video. I want one of these for my snowflake to review on our Youtube channel
