CW C60 Trident Bronze Ombré Update

06/19/201901/10/2021

Although I thought I would never like a bronze watch, the Christopher Ward C60 Trident Bronze Ombré has become the absolute favorite watch in my collection. This follow-up to the initial review is something I have been meaning to do and was spurred on by a comment on the original review video.

The review update video: [https://youtu.be/QzPJIZ9_YmU]

What are my thoughts on bronze now? What about the Ombré specifically? How’s that patina coming along? All is answered in the video and I have posted some extra photos to show the patina progression.

Major points from the video:

  • Every watch enthusiast should try a bronze watch, you may not like it and sell it and that is fine, but you might also be surprised and move clear across the spectrum like I did!
  • In my opinion, the Ombré was the best bronze watch on the market. You can disagree, that is also fine, but it sold out and sold out quickly because it is of spectacular design and quality. If you want one, your best bet is chasing one down on the CW Forum or CWEnthusiasts Facebook group.
  • The Ombré looks just as good up close as it does from afar. This is the first video that includes use of my new macro lens.
Patination Over Time…

One thing I did not address in the video is the distressed leather strap that originally came with the watch. I do like it and wear it sometimes, but it quickly showed signs of wear, which was expected and part of the effect. I do prefer the watch on the two straps discussed in the video which you can read more about in their respective reviews: Maikes (leather) and Carty (silicone).
